Texas Southern @ Rice
Current Records: Texas Southern 0-2; Rice 0-3
What to Know
The Texas Southern Tigers watched the action from their couches last weekend, but are set to take to the field. They are staying on the road on Saturday to face off against the Rice Owls at 6:30 p.m. ET Sept. 25 at Rice Stadium. Neither team wants a repeat from their last game since each was dealt a considerable loss.
There’s no need to mince words: the Tigers lost to the Baylor Bears two weeks ago, and they lost bad. The score wound up at 66-7. Texas Southern was down 52 to nothing at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from. Their only offensive touchdown came from RB Kevin Harris.
Meanwhile, Rice played a matchup they are hoping to forget as they lost a 58 to nothing blowout to the Texas Longhorns last week. The Owls were in a tough position by the half, with the score already sitting at 44 to nothing. QB Jake Constantine had a memorable game, but not in the way you want to be remembered: he passed for only 59 yards on 14 attempts.
Both of these teams will be looking to put their recent losses behind them and walk away with a victory. Neither squad could put together much of an offensive attack, so expect every point to count.
