Grambling State @ Houston
Current Records: Grambling State 1-1; Houston 1-1
What to Know
The Grambling State Tigers will hit the road for the second straight week as they head to TDECU Stadium at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday. The Houston Cougars should still be riding high after a victory, while Grambling State will be looking to get back in the win column.
The Tigers took a serious blow against the Southern Miss Golden Eagles last week, falling 37 to nothing. Grambling State was down 20 to nothing at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Meanwhile, Houston took their game on the road last week with ease, bagging a 44-7 win over the Rice Owls. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Houston had established a 31-7 advantage. Their success was spearheaded by the efforts of QB Clayton Tune, who passed for two TDs and 233 yards on 30 attempts in addition to picking up 50 yards on the ground, and RB Alton McCaskill, who punched in two rushing touchdowns in addition to snatching one receiving TD. McCaskill hadn’t helped his team much against the Texas Tech Red Raiders two weeks ago, so this was a nice turnaround for him.
Grambling State’s loss took them down to 1-1 while Houston’s victory pulled them up to 1-1. We’ll see if Grambling State can steal the Cougars’ luck or if Houston records another win instead.
