Through 2 Quarters
The North Carolina Tar Heels have exploded for 24 points against Georgia State’s defense, already eclipsing their previous tally against the Virginia Tech Hokies last Friday. UNC is way out in front at halftime with a 24-10 lead over Georgia State. The Tar Heels have been riding high on the performance of QB Sam Howell, who has passed for two TDs and 167 yards on 15 attempts in addition to punching in one rushing touchdown.
Howell has led the way so far for UNC, as he has passed for two TDs and 167 yards on 15 attempts in addition to punching in one rushing touchdown. Howell’s performance is making up for a slower contest against Virginia Tech.
UNC and Georgia State have certainly played as if they’re avenging a loss, because they are. Either team could still leave here with a redeeming win, so expect a scrappy second half.

What to Know
The Georgia State Panthers will square off against the North Carolina Tar Heels at 7:30 p.m. ET Saturday at Kenan Memorial Stadium. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so their meeting could be a low-scoring affair.
The day started off rough for Georgia State last week, and it ended that way, too. They found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 43-10 punch to the gut against the Army West Point Black Knights. It was supposed to be a close game, and the Panthers were supposed to come out on top, but neither of those things ended up happening. Their only offensive touchdown came from RB Destin Coates.
Meanwhile, UNC came up short against the Virginia Tech Hokies last Friday, falling 17-10. QB Sam Howell had a pretty forgettable game, throwing three interceptions.
With the two teams each stumbling in off of a loss, both will be hungry for the victory. Check back to see which squad is able to work their way into the win column.
