Current Records: Southeastern Louisiana 1-0; Louisiana Tech 0-1
Last Season Records: Louisiana Tech 5-5; Southeastern Louisiana 4-3
What to Know
The Southeastern Louisiana Lions will take on the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday at Joe Aillet Stadium. Southeastern Louisiana will be strutting in after a victory while Louisiana Tech will be stumbling in from a loss.
It was all tied up 14-14 at the half for Southeastern Louisiana and the North Alabama Lions last week, but Southeastern Louisiana stepped up in the second half for a cozy 49-28 win.
Meanwhile, Louisiana Tech and the Mississippi State Bulldogs were almost perfectly matched up last week, but Louisiana Tech suffered an agonizing 35-34 defeat. Louisiana Tech was up 31-14 at the end of the third quarter but couldn’t hold on to the lead. QB Austin Kendall put forth a good effort for the losing side as he passed for two TDs and 269 yards on 36 attempts in addition to rushing for one TD and 68 yards. One of the most memorable plays of the matchup was Kendall’s 59-yard touchdown rush in the second quarter.
Louisiana Tech’s defense was a presence as well, as it collected one interception and three fumbles. LB Trey Baldwin picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown.
Louisiana Tech’s defeat took them down to 0-1 while Southeastern Louisiana’s victory pulled them up to 1-0. We’ll see if Louisiana Tech can steal Southeastern Louisiana’s luck or if Southeastern Louisiana records another win instead.
