What to Know
The Bethune-Cookman Wildcats will hit the road for the second straight week as they head to Bounce House at 6:30 p.m. ET on Saturday. The UCF Knights will be strutting in after a victory while Bethune-Cookman will be stumbling in from a defeat.
The Wildcats came up short against the UTEP Miners last week, falling 38-28. A silver lining for Bethune-Cookman was the play of RB Que’shaun Byrd, who punched in one rushing touchdown. Byrd’s longest run was for 68 yards in the fourth quarter.
Meanwhile, when you finish with 285 more yards than your opponent like the Knights did last Thursday, a favorable outcome is almost sure to follow. They managed a 36-31 win over the Boise State Broncos. The win came about thanks to a strong surge after the first quarter to overcome a 14 to nothing deficit. QB Dillon Gabriel and RB Isaiah Bowser were among the main playmakers for UCF as the former passed for four TDs and 318 yards on 37 attempts in addition to picking up 64 yards on the ground and the latter rushed for one TD and 172 yards on 33 carries.
Bethune-Cookman’s loss took them down to 0-1 while UCF’s victory pulled them up to 1-0. We’ll see if Bethune-Cookman can steal UCF’s luck or if the Knights records another victory instead.
