The U.S. subsidiary of Australia-headquartered satellite communications company Speedcast has hired a pair of vice presidents to steer the technology and business development functions.
Richard Koucheravy has joined Ultisat as vice president of business development to drive growth in new markets, while Tom Holman was named VP of systems engineering to lead technical innovation efforts for satellite networks.
Koucheravy was most recently senior director of business development for U.S. government programs at Sikorsky, the helicopter manufacturer owned by Lockheed Martin. He also is a 28-year Army veteran who served as a helicopter pilot, maintenance officer and planner-strategist.
Holman joins Ultisat from DataPath, the satellite ground systems maker whose engineering department he led for the past six years. He altogether spent 16 years at DataPath and 14 at SpaceCom Systems.
Before Holman entered the private sector, he served in the Army and ultimately as a captain in tactical communications.
